The Fine Arts Department at Ex’Pression College introduces students to the concepts of animation, figure drawing, pre-production, concept art, art history, and hands-on experimentation with various media. Understanding these fundamentals prepares students to produce richer and more engaging work in later classes. We use pencil, paper, art markers, acrylic, watercolor, Sculpy, maquette armatures, lightboxes, and down-shooters (animation stands) to produce work in these classes. We also use DigiCel’s Flipbook, and After Effects for small forays back into the digital realm.

Our classes focus entirely on hand-drawn, non-electronic expression of ideas in order to give our Animation and Visual Effects, Game Art Design, and Motion Graphic and Design students the best and broadest background in these core visual skills.
